Young Females Dominate the Entrepreneurial Landscape in Kazakhstan Among the Youth
Astonishing figures reveal that the majority of young entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan are women, with women accounting for 55.4% of all entrepreneurs under the age of 35. This assertion was made by the Institute of Public Policy in a report on April 29, citing the Bureau of National Statistics as the source.

The disparity is even more conspicuous in urban areas, where women represent 55.5% of young entrepreneurs, compared to 44.5% for men. In rural areas, women are also leading the pack, comprising 54.5% of the total.
The number of active individual entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan has seen a steady incline, increasing by 60.4% since 2020. Youth makes up 40% of all individual entrepreneurs under the age of 35.
From the first quarter of 2020 to the same period in 2025, the number of young individual entrepreneurs increased by 2.4 times, rising from 293,590 to 698,920. A remarkable surge took place in 2022, with youth entrepreneurship witnessing a staggering 68% increase.
An eye-opening 75% of young individual entrepreneurs operate from cities, underlining the urbanization trend. However, only 4.7% of them engage in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, compared to 14.2% across all age groups.
