Wearable tech giant Whoop expands its scope with the inclusion of blood testing, further blurring the lines between technology and healthcare.

Whoop, the popular fitness and recovery tracker, has announced a new service in partnership with Quest Diagnostics. This service, set to launch this fall, will offer consumers on-demand health data beyond annual checkups, marking a significant step forward in personal health management.

The new service, available to Whoop's 5.0 and MG device users, will incorporate medical-grade tools such as on-demand ECG, blood pressure insights, and a new metric called "Whoop Age" to track biological aging.

Cristiano Ronaldo, a backer of Whoop, is among those who will benefit from this innovative service.

Quest Diagnostics will serve as the U.S. lab provider for Whoop Advanced Labs. Tests can be conducted at a patient service center or through a mobile draw at home, offering convenience and flexibility to users.

Richard Adams, Senior Vice President (SVP) of Quest Consumer at Quest Diagnostics, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, "This partnership with Whoop is an example of Quest broadening access to deep health and wellness insights."

The new service will track various biomarkers including metabolism, hormones, inflammation, cardiovascular health, and nutrient status. Clinician-reviewed results will be delivered directly in the Whoop app, providing users with easy access to their health data.

This new service from Whoop is an extension of its focus on moving beyond recovery, sleep, and training data into a more fine-tuned health prevention model. By offering insights from lab testing, the service aims to empower consumers to take control of their health and make more informed decisions about their wellness.

The new service is designed to help people live and perform closer to their potential for longer. A waitlist for the service is currently open, and interested parties can sign up to be notified when it becomes available.

With this partnership, Whoop and Quest Diagnostics are working together to redefine health and wellness management, offering consumers a more comprehensive, personalised approach to their health.
