Volunteer Worker Training Scheduled for October 16th
In an exciting development, the Landshut district is offering a unique training opportunity for volunteers who wish to support individuals in need of care (care level 1) at home. This training, which is the first of its kind, is being offered in collaboration with the Fachstelle for Dementia and Care in Lower Bavaria and the Market Ergolding.
The training, in accordance with § 82 Abs. 4 Satz 2 Nr. 1 AVSG, is primarily aimed at citizens with a residence in the Landshut district, with a limited number of participants. It is scheduled to take place on Thursday, 16th October 2025, from 09:00 to 16:00 at Ahornhof Ergolding (Community Room), Bargrabenstraße 8, 84030 Ergolding. The registration deadline is Thursday, 02.10.2025.
Tasks for volunteer individuals include accompanying to doctor's appointments, supporting with cooking, shopping, household chores, and organizing the care routine. To engage in volunteer daily support, one must be at least 16 years old, not be related to the person in need of care up to the 2nd degree, or live in the same household.
To be recognized as a volunteer individual by the care insurance, participation in a corresponding training is necessary. It is recommended that volunteer individuals also have a private liability and accident insurance.

By volunteering, individuals can relieve caregivers and receive a reimbursement of up to 131 euros per month, in addition to the relief allowance from the care insurance.
