Two Die in Belarus After Insect Stings, Authorities Warn
Two separate incidents in Belarus' Minsk Region have raised alarm. A man in Minsk died after being stung by honeybees, while a woman in Bykhovsky District succumbed to a wasp sting while drinking kvas.
In the city of Minsk, a man lost his life after being attacked by a swarm of honeybees. Meanwhile, in Beryozinsky District, another man died from anaphylactic shock following a bee sting encounter.
In a tragic incident in Bykhovsky District, a woman drinking kvas was stung by a wasp. Despite taking antihistamines, she felt unwell and ultimately lost consciousness, leading to her untimely death. Forensic examination revealed that she died from angioneurotic edema (Quincke's edema) caused by the wasp sting, which led to asphyxiation. It was discovered that the woman suffered from allergies to insect bites, a factor that may have contributed to her severe reaction.
These incidents serve as stark reminders of the potential dangers posed by insect stings, especially for those with allergies. Authorities in the Minsk Region urge caution and prompt medical attention in case of severe reactions.
