In a recent discussion, Dr. Anna Torosyan-Abraмяn, a specialist in anti-aging medicine, highlighted the importance of maintaining a diet rich in brain-healthy foods to prevent issues with the brain and nervous system.

According to Dr. Torosyan-Abraмяn, modifying eating habits is within everyone's power. For people, especially those in middle to late life, she recommends complementing their diet with foods such as leafy greens, berries, nuts, and olive oil. This approach follows the MIND diet, known to lower the risk of Alzheimer's, and ensuring adequate intake of calcium and magnesium from foods like nuts, seeds, leafy vegetables, and whole grains can also help protect against dementia.

One food that stands out is avocados. Not only do they provide a sense of satiety, aiding in weight maintenance, but they also contain numerous essential microelements. Moreover, avocados help lower cholesterol levels, making them a valuable addition to any diet aimed at reducing the risk of dementia.

However, Dr. Torosyan-Abraмяn emphasised that while diet plays a significant role, factors such as age and heredity are beyond our control. Nevertheless, maintaining a healthy weight and overall health remains the best prevention for dementia.

Interestingly, coffee may also have a protective effect on the brains of patients with Alzheimer's and dementia, although more research is needed to confirm this.

Dr. Torosyan-Abraмяn also listed various products that enrich one's diet with essential microelements, providing a comprehensive guide for those seeking to improve their brain health through diet.
