Zurich's Street Parade: Safety Measures and Additional Services

During this year's Street Parade in Zurich, several safety measures and additional services were provided to ensure the well-being of the hundreds of thousands of attendees.

For the safety of festival-goers, a free, anonymous drug checking service was available at Bürkliplatz, run by Saferparty.ch. This service aimed to help people test substances and reduce risks associated with drug use.

To prevent injuries from broken glass, glass bottles were prohibited at the event. Visitors were encouraged to bring water bottles and use sun protection. Additionally, a warning was issued about needle spiking incidents reported in recent years, and the organizers promoted safe sex and recommended contraception to protect against disease.

Police maintained a strong presence at the Street Parade, dealing with theft, assaults, and other incidents, including arrests and confiscation of narcotics such as cocaine and ecstasy.

On the Lovemobiles (the moving stages), there were additional rules: no climbing on the vehicles due to powerline hazards, no unauthorized riders, no drugs, and limited bag sizes. Water and drinks were provided onboard, along with hand fans and sun protection support.

Regarding bees and tattoos, no specific safety measures or services related to these topics were mentioned in the official safety guidelines or reported coverage. It is possible that these topics are either not relevant or not highlighted in the event's safety measures.

This year's Street Parade, which has been happening since 1992, had a theme of "Live Life, Love Life". The event featured 29 music trucks and DJs who performed for free. Despite the high temperature of around 33°C, the event attracted large crowds to the city of Zurich, with no reports of people jumping into Lake Zurich to cool off.
