Sylhet's MAG Osmani Hospital: New Cancer Center Easing Burden in Three Months
Sylhet's MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital is working tirelessly to enhance its facilities. A new cancer center is nearing completion, set to ease the burden on patients and staff.
The hospital, currently serving nearly 3,000 patients despite its 500-bed capacity, is expecting relief from the upcoming cancer unit. The construction is on track to finish in three months, with Dr. Ferdous Ahmed at the helm as the leading doctor. Deputy Commissioner Md Sarwar Alam expressed confidence in the project's timely completion.
The new cancer center aims to reduce the suffering of cancer patients not just in Sylhet, but also in surrounding districts. Alam praised the dedication of doctors and nurses, who have been working under strain due to the high patient volume. Additionally, steps are being taken to eliminate the prevalence of brokers and manage the presence of a large number of patients' relatives, further complicating hospital management.
The cancer unit at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital is expected to begin operations within the next three months. This addition promises to alleviate some of the strain on the hospital and improve care for cancer patients in the region.
