Sunday's Blue Light Day: Volunteers Show Up
The city of Hagen invites residents and visitors on Sunday, September 2, 2018, to attend the Hagen Blue Light Day at the Johanniskirchplatz. The second iteration of this event features an engaging lineup of performances and exhibitions planned by HagenAgentur over several months.
Multiple organizations, including the police, fire department, public order office, German Red Cross, German Lifesaving Association, Technical Relief Agency, and other institutions, will showcase their work.
Highlights include two realistic traffic accident simulations involving actor participants. The ensuing dramatization of police intervention and fire department rescue efforts will provide insight into their responding techniques. Spectators can also witness the action of police dogs, as handlers from Hagen demonstrate the dogs' tracking abilities.
In addition to these attractions, visitors can browse a variety of police vehicles, meet the recruitment team, and get advice on career opportunities. For the younger members of the crowd, the crime scene department offers an interactive experience creating personalized fingerprint passports. Police officers will also provide free burglary prevention advice.
Collaborating with the DLRG, the fire department and youth fire brigade will provide live demonstrations of diving operations using a diving container. Service dogs from the Iserlohn fire department will also showcase their skills. Visitors can learn more about the THW, DRK, and the public order office through exhibitions and question-and-answer sessions.
Admission to the event is free, promising an enjoyable experience for everyone.
