In an effort to enhance safety and public health, the Rheinbahn has started distributing protective masks at several of its central stations. The masks, donated by real GmbH, are being made available to commuters and the public at key transit hubs like Heinrich-Heine-Allee and the main station.

Mayor Thomas Geisel, in a recent statement, highlighted the importance of using mouth-nose protection masks (MNS) in preventing the spread of infection at tram, subway, and subway stations. He also stated his expectation for an increase in passenger volume on the Rheinbahn.

The hygiene kits, containing a MNS and instructions on how to wear it correctly, were packaged over the weekend by the fire department and economic development. A total of 100,000 protective masks were distributed to the Rheinbahn.

The distribution of these masks aims not only to provide protection but also to familiarize the population with wearing a mask. The use of MNS is crucial in preventing the spread of infection, as per the Mayor's statement.

Further distribution actions of the masks are planned in the coming days. The Mayor emphasized the importance of following hygiene rules to protect oneself and others. No new information was provided about additional means to prevent the spread of infection beyond the distribution of masks.

The Rheinbahn employees are diligently distributing the masks at the designated stations to ensure easy access for passengers and encourage mask usage in public transport settings. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to ensure the safety and well-being of the city's commuters during these challenging times.
