In the city of Greifswald, the Demenz Network and Demenz & Kultur Network are organising a series of events this September to raise awareness about dementia and provide support for those affected, their relatives, and professionals. The events aim to create a platform for exchange, information, and shared experiences.

The programme includes a variety of activities, such as advice and training, lectures, interactive activities, and cultural offerings. One of the highlights is the "Weeks of Dementia" event, which will take place from September 12th to 28th, 2025.

On September 12th, there is an ILWIA Action Day "Living in Old Age" at the Fish Market from 10:00 to 15:00. The event features a Dementia Simulator, Quiz, and Information. On the same day, school classes can participate in a Workshop "Knietzsche and Dementia" at the City Library from 10:00 - 11:00.

On September 16th, there is a Dementia-Sensitive Zoo Visit with Animal Show & Coffee Table at Greifswald Zoo from 14:00 to 16:00. The event is priced at 7 Euro and requires registration. For caregivers, a training programme is available in the autumn, with sessions running from September 4th to October 23rd, 2025, and from October 7th to November 25th, 2025. The leader of the programme is Dirk Mischkale.

On September 17th, there is an Exchange with the Senior Council, Care Support Point, etc. at the House of Encounter from 9:00 to 12:00. On September 23rd, there is a Lecture "Perspective Change - Experiencing Dementia" at the Town Hall from 14:30 to 16:30, followed by an Exchange. On September 24th, Multi-Generational House Action Sunshine invites you to Brain Jogging with Coffee & Cake at 13:00.

On September 25th, there is a Lecture "Dealing & Communication with People Affected by Dementia" with Coffee & Cake at the Neighborhood Help Association WGG. On the same day, from 14:00 to 16:00, the City Library will host an exhibition "Who Rests, Rots" on Literature, Games, and Occupation Ideas.

Additionally, on September 16th, there is a Conversation Offer for Relatives at Meeting Point at the Church (Lomonossowallee 55) from 10:00 to 12:00.
