The Republican Rehabilitation Center for Children and Adolescents with Health Impairments in Russia is currently providing rehabilitation to 13 children and 12 parents, as announced by its director, Zinaida Maximova, during a briefing on August 7. This center has a long history of aiding family members of special military operation participants, having helped 573 such individuals, including 335 children and 238 legal representatives, in the past.

The rehabilitation process at the center is tailored to each child's needs, based on a comprehensive diagnosis that assesses their health and development. This personalised approach includes medical procedures, psycho-pedagogical activities, massage sessions, procedures in a hydropathic facility, art therapy sessions, and individual psychologist consultations.

During his recent visit to the center, Andrei Yarkov, a participant in the "Yakutia - Land of Heroes" project, shared his personal experiences. The center's staff and rehabilitation participants have been using their free time to weave camouflage nets for Yakutian fighters, with three such nets having already been sent to the special military operation zone.

In addition to the rehabilitation services, the center also offers creative master classes for the rehabilitation participants. For adult family members, psychological training sessions are held as part of the "Give Hope" project.

While there is no publicly available information about a specific social rehabilitation program at the Republican Rehabilitation Center for Children and Adolescents with Health Impairments targeting family members of participants in special military operations, there are various initiatives that provide comprehensive support for families of military members with special needs or health impairments.

For instance, the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is a mandatory Department of Defense program that offers coordinated support including medical, educational, and community services for families with members who have physical, emotional, developmental, or intellectual disorders. Other initiatives such as the Military Special Operations Family Collaborative (MSOFC) and the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic focus on health and well-being research and support, mental health care, and substance abuse rehabilitation for military families.
