New Technology Solution for Electrocardiogram, AccurKardia AccurECG, recognized as the top innovation in ECG technology.

In the rapidly evolving world of digital healthcare, groundbreaking advancements are being made in ECG-based diagnostics. This year, the MedTech Breakthrough Awards, an independent market intelligence organization, recognised these advancements, with AccurKardia taking centre stage.

AccurKardia has been awarded the "Best New Technology Solution for ECG" in the 9th annual MedTech Breakthrough Awards. Their AccurECG software platform, which provides automated, near real-time beat-by-beat ECG analysis, was lauded for its device-agnostic and vendor-neutral approach, integrating seamlessly with diverse hardware.

The accolade comes as AccurKardia's AI-powered hyperkalemia detection solution, AK+ Guard, was also granted FDA Breakthrough Device Designation. AK+ Guard is a Lead I ECG-based tool designed for consumer and clinical wearables, marking a significant step forward in early detection of hyperkalemia.

Beyond AccurKardia’s AccurECG, recent advancements in ECG-based diagnostics include AI models like EchoNext and compact remote ECG technologies like HeartBeam’s 3D ECG system. EchoNext is an AI-powered tool trained on over 1 million ECGs and echocardiograms, capable of detecting a broad spectrum of structural heart diseases (SHDs) with accuracy surpassing cardiologists and previous AI models. It excels at early screening for complex cardiac conditions, showing strong real-world validation in clinical trials.

HeartBeam’s FDA-cleared 3D ECG technology creates standard 12-lead ECG-quality diagnostics from a portable, cable-free device that captures heart signals in three dimensions for arrhythmia assessment outside clinical settings, expanding remote cardiac care and enabling timely diagnosis at home. The technology, recognised with an Industry Innovation Award, is revolutionary for remote cardiac diagnostics, synthesising signals to generate clinical-grade ECG outputs in a small, easy-to-use device without cables.

Other AI integrations are also growing, such as Anumana’s AI for ECG analysis combined with consumer devices like AliveCor’s Kardia, indicating a trend toward AI-enhanced ECGs as broad biomarkers and patient monitoring tools. AI models trained on ECG data are being explored not only for arrhythmia but also for transplant rejection detection and other cardiac conditions, highlighting expanding clinical applications.

In 2024, AccurKardia received FDA Breakthrough Device Designations for two novel applications: AK-AVS and AK+ Guard. AK-AVS is an ECG-based AI algorithm for early detection of moderate to severe Aortic Valve Stenosis.

The digital healthcare industry is demonstrating global impact and momentum, as seen in this year's record-breaking number of nominations from leading companies and startups across more than 18 countries. The awards span various categories, including Telehealth, Clinical Administration, Patient Engagement, Electronic Health Records (EHR), Virtual Care, Medical Devices, Medical Data & Privacy, and beyond.

These advancements in ECG-based diagnostics technology hold promise for earlier, broader, and more accessible cardiac diagnostics, revolutionising the field and improving patient outcomes.
