MVZ Galeria Med GmbH Files for Insolvency, Leaving Middle Rhine GP Practices in Limbo
MVZ Galeria Med GmbH has filed for insolvency, leaving several GP practices in the Middle Rhine region without a permanent solution. The Neuwied local court received the filing on 10 September. While some temporary measures are in place, the future of many practices remains uncertain.
The insolvency affects two GP practices in Neuwied city center and Heimbach-Weis, which have now closed. The company previously operated eight practices in the region, all of which have shut down. A promising solution is being discussed for the GP practice in Koblenz, but details are still pending.
To maintain medical care, a GP mobile unit will make stops in Andernach on Tuesdays, Nastätten on Wednesdays, and Neuwied on Thursdays. This service is set to begin on 7 October and continue until mid-December. In Andernach, Mohamad Hussein Moslimani is expected to take over the GP practice in the existing premises, though no specific date has been announced.
Independently of the insolvency, a new GP practice opened as a branch of a Nastätten practice in St. Goarshausen on Wednesday. This new practice is not affected by the insolvency proceedings.
