Kazakhstan Sets Safe Weekly Study Hours for Schoolchildren
Gulsharat Kozhatova, a senior official at Kazakhstan's Ministry of Healthcare, has clarified the safe weekly study hours for Kazakh schoolchildren. She stressed the importance of proper rest, physical activity, and nutrition for students' health.
Kozhatova, head of the management of control over food, education, and upbringing at the Committee of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control, revealed the maximum weekly workload for students. For grades 1-4, it's 22-29 hours, and for grades 5-10, it's 33-39 hours. She emphasized that prolonged class presence isn't inherently harmful if the educational process is well-organized.
She also highlighted other key factors for students' health. These include access to safe drinking water, regular alternation of mental and physical activities, constant medical supervision, and annual check-ups. Proper rest time, breaks, and walks were also mentioned as crucial.
Kozhatova's guidelines aim to ensure Kazakh students' health and well-being. They emphasize the importance of balanced schedules, regular check-ups, and a holistic approach to student health.
