Johanniter-Cold Bus now stationed at CVJM Bremen e.V.: Homeless individuals located a new shelter
As winter approaches in Bremen, the much-anticipated Cold Bus service is set to commence from November 6, 20XX. This mobile unit, operated by the Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe, will provide essential aid to the homeless and needy, distributing warm meals and clothing, as well as offering medical assistance.
The Cold Bus tour will traverse various locations in the city centre, including Friedrich-Rauers-Straße in Bahnhofsvorstadt and Hohentorspark in Bremen Neustadt every Sunday at 6 pm. A new stop has been added to the route, with the Cold Bus now stationed on the grounds of the Christliche Verein Junger Menschen (CVJM) at the Konsul-Hackfeld-Haus.
Karin Altenfelder, chairperson of Diakonie Bremen, has expressed relief at finding a solution for this important service. She noted that no comprehensive strategy for helping those in need quickly and unbureaucratically has been implemented in Bremen. The Cold Bus tour, she believes, is a significant contribution to the social landscape of the city.
The Cold Bus team was previously prohibited from driving to the train station square due to it being a "security zone". However, this restriction has been lifted, and the Cold Bus will now be able to extend its reach even further.
The Cold Bus tour, which started on November 3, is staffed by volunteers who have been regularly present since the summer months. The Johanniter medical mobile is part of the tour every two weeks, providing additional medical support.
For the most accurate and up-to-date route information, including the exact stops and timings of the Cold Bus in Bremen, it is recommended to consult the Johanniter organization’s official communications or their website. Local social service offices or community centres like CVJM Bremen may also provide current route details.
The Cold Bus aims to support those who need help, and its presence in Bremen is a testament to the city's commitment to addressing the needs of its most vulnerable residents.
