The 190th Munich Oktoberfest, which kicked off on a scorching hot day, was marred by a tragic incident before the festival tapping ceremony. A 70-year-old showwoman, Biggi Baumgärtner, passed away near the showmen's trailers.

Baumgärtner, who ran the shooting gallery "Jagdhütte" on the festival grounds with her family, suffered a fatal medical emergency despite immediate resuscitation attempts by the Aicher Ambulance service.

The exact cause of death could not be determined immediately, but circulatory problems, while common among patients treated at the Oktoberfest, were not mentioned as the cause in this incident.

The heat had already been affecting both young and old festival-goers at the Oktoberfest. The Aicher Ambulance service treated over 130 patients during the festivities, with the youngest being an 11-year-old girl who was brought to the service point due to circulatory problems. The oldest patient treated was 72 years old, who collapsed due to the warm weather.

The incident added to the challenges the Oktoberfest was facing due to the heat. The Oktoberfest was already experiencing difficulties due to the high temperatures, and this unfortunate event only served to heighten the concerns.

An emergency team began CPR at the scene of the incident, and a crisis intervention team took over the care of Baumgärtner's relatives. The Aicher Ambulance provided immediate assistance, but unfortunately, they were unable to save the showwoman.
