Elderly Cyclist Meets Accident on Rhine: 86-year-old sustains severe injuries during a cycling incident
In a tragic incident that occurred on Monday, 08.09.2025, an 86-year-old woman was involved in an accident while cycling on Hauptstraße in Freiburg.
The elderly woman fell near the Weil-Ost border crossing, just before the Riehen crossing, and was unconscious for several minutes. Emergency services quickly responded to the scene and provided initial treatment.
Following the incident, the woman was taken to a local hospital. However, due to the severity of her injuries, she was later transferred to the UNI Clinic in Freiburg. At the time of writing, no update on her recovery or current health status has been provided in the sources.
