Neuwied County, Germany, is set to host a series of mental health events from October 15 to October 22, 2024. These events, organised in collaboration with the Psychiatric Coordination Office of the Health Department, aim to promote mental well-being and encourage open discussions about various mental health issues.

Thomas Herschbach, the Press Spokesperson for Neuwied County Administration, is overseeing the press and public relations for these events. You can reach Thomas at [email protected] or by phone at 02631/803-224. For general inquiries, you can visit the Neuwied County Administration's official website at www.kreis-neuwied.de.

The events are free of charge unless otherwise specified, and specific contact information is provided for each event.

County Executive Achim Hallerbach officially opened the series of events with a traveling exhibition "Depths of the Soul" at the ASD day care "Im Rosengarten" in Linz am Rhein. This exhibition, created from a photo project of the "In Dignity Old Age e.V." association, presents portraits that encourage open discussion about fateful blows, depression, and loneliness. The exhibition can be visited until October 22 during the usual opening hours.

On October 15, a specialist lecture on "Loneliness in old age: Must it be?" will take place from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Haus der Familie Puderbach.

On October 16, the "Trialog: Understanding mental health" will take place at the parish hall of St. Matthias Church, dealing with the handling of mental impairments in the workplace.

Angelina Boerger's reading "Carnival in the Head" will take place on October 17 at the VHS Neuwied, discussing common prejudices against people with AD(H)S and sharing personal anecdotes.

On October 18, the "Mobile" individual measure will present itself at the premises in Engerser Str. 24-26, aiming to gradually integrate people with mental impairments into the labor market.

An overview of all events is provided by the brochure "Weeks of Mental Health in Neuwied County", which can be accessed via the link www.kreis-neuwied.de/wdsg.

For the most accurate and updated event schedules, we recommend checking directly with Neuwied County’s official website, local health departments, or community mental health organizations.
