Charity organization SVdP NKY's Summer Breeze initiative distributes hundreds of fans and air conditioners to help families beat the summer heat.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Northern Kentucky (SVdP NKY) has successfully conducted its annual Summer Breeze Program, a unique heat relief initiative in Northern Kentucky. This year, the program saw an unprecedented demand, with the initial supply of fans and air conditioning units being quickly outpaced.

Despite the high demand, SVdP NKY managed to provide over 370 fans and 255 air conditioning units to local families in need, thanks to the generous support of sponsors such as St. Elizabeth Healthcare and Arlinghaus Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning, and Electrical.

Arlinghaus, a proud partner of SVdP NKY, not only provided additional funding for the program but also contributed significantly to providing coolers and fans for the initiative. Madalyn Reller, marketing director at Arlinghaus, stated that supporting SVdP NKY's Summer Breeze Program aligns with their mission to help those in need.

The Summer Breeze Program is particularly important for children, the elderly, and those with respiratory illnesses, heart problems, or other serious pre-existing health conditions. Dr. Chaitanya Mandapakala, a pulmonologist at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, highlighted the program's importance in preventing emergency visits or hospitalizations due to worsened respiratory conditions.

Becca Gerding, Programs Director at SVdP NKY, stated that the program made a significant difference for those with underlying health conditions during the summer heat. A limited number of fans are still available for families in need. Northern Kentucky residents can apply for fans by calling SVdP NKY's Assistance Help Line at 859-341-3219, Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is proud to support the Summer Breeze Program due to its compassionate and life-saving efforts. To learn more about SVdP NKY's assistance programs, visit www.svdpnky.org.
