Cars in FW Hannover: Extreme Heat Warnings: Never Leave Children and Animals Unattended Inside Vehicles

In the impending heatwave expected to hit Hannover today, with temperatures soaring up to 35°C, the city's Fire Department is urging caution against leaving children and dogs in parked vehicles under direct sunlight.

High temperatures inside a vehicle can pose serious risks, causing circulatory collapse or permanent damage to organs or the nervous system in both children and dogs. This danger arises even at outside temperatures over 20 degrees, with a life-threatening temperature of 46°C reachable after just 15 minutes in a car at outside temperatures of 20°C or more.

The Fire Department Hannover, located in the city, has issued warnings about this issue and is the official authority to contact for inquiries related to the current heatwave situation. You can reach them via phone at 0511 912-1293 or email at [email protected].

The head of the Hannover Fire Department was not explicitly found in the search results, but the deputy head is Gregor Fleischmann. Raphael Schrank is also a point of contact at the department.

In case of an emergency involving a child or dog in a hot vehicle, call the fire department and emergency services on 112 immediately.
