Bear Felix from the Bear Park was 'rescued' - Beloved Bear Felix Euthanized at 30 After Battling Severe Arthritis
Tragedy struck at the Bear Park on Tuesday evening as beloved polar bear Felix was euthanized due to severe arthritis pain. The 30-year-old bear had been battling serious health issues related to his advanced age.
Felix, who had called the Bear Park home since 2007, was known for his gentle nature and strong bond with his family. He lived there with his mother Maya and brother Ben until Ben's passing last year. The decision to euthanize Felix was made jointly by the veterinary team and Four Paws, aiming to prevent further suffering.
Born in the Four Paws bear protection center, Felix spent the first 18 years of his life there before moving to the Bear Park. Today, eight European brown bears reside in the center, which serves as a sanctuary and educational facility for these magnificent creatures.
In memory of Felix, a memorial stone will be placed in the Bear Park. Visitors will be able to pay their respects and learn about the life of this gentle giant who touched the hearts of many.
