Apple announces fresh features for Fitness+ in the upcoming year

Apple Fitness+ is gearing up for an exciting start to the new year, with a host of new features and collaborations set to enhance the fitness experience for its users.

In January, two new trainers will join the Fitness+ team. Brian Cochrane, specialising in High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), and Jenn Lau, focusing on Strength workouts, will bring fresh energy and expertise to the platform. The identities of the three additional trainers hired by Apple Fitness+ in January 2023 are yet to be revealed.

For those seeking tranquillity and better sleep, a new Meditation theme, Sleep, will be added to the Meditation library. This theme will launch with a program called "Introduction to Meditations for Sleep," featuring four 20-minute meditations.

Jumping into the world of fitness and entertainment, Apple Fitness+ has collaborated with renowned personalities. Nina Hoss, a German actress known for her role in the critically acclaimed film Tár, and José André́s, the Spanish chef and founder of the World Central Kitchen, will be featured on the platform.

Joining the star-studded lineup are Amber Ruffin, host of The Amber Ruffin Show and co-author of the New York Times bestseller You'll Never Believe What Happened to Lacey: Crazy Stories about Racism, and Colman Domingo, acclaimed for his performances in The Scottsboro Boys and Euphoria.

Sports enthusiasts will be thrilled to know that Nathan Chen, the three-time world champion and 2022 Olympic champion US figure skater, is also associated with Apple Fitness+.

In the realm of music, Foo Fighters and Bad Bunny will have Artist Spotlight offerings on Fitness+ in January. Additionally, seven new workouts featuring Beyoncé's music will be available from January 9.

For those looking to build a new fitness habit, a new Collection, "6 Weeks to Restart Your Fitness," will provide motivation to work out every day. Another Collection, "Level Up Your Core Training," will feature 10- and 20-minute core workouts using dumbbells.

In the realm of television, Jamie-Ray Hartshorne and Nez Dally will lead the Kickboxing workouts, and Jason Segel, known for his role as Marshall Eriksen in How I Met Your Mother, stars in the upcoming Apple Original comedy Shrinking.

Lastly, Sheryl Lee Ralph, who recently won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in Abbott Elementary, will be featured on Fitness+. Jamie Lee Curtis will be the first guest in the fifth season of Time to Walk on Fitness+.

Moreover, SilverSneakers, the nation's leading fitness program for older adults, will offer its members a Fitness+ subscription at no additional cost through select Medicare Advantage plans.
