AI-Integrated Digital Pet CT, High-End 3T-MRI, and Enhanced NICU-PICU Units Debut at S.L. Raheja Hospital

S.L. Raheja Hospital, a Fortis Associate in Mumbai, has taken a significant stride in the realm of healthcare diagnostics with the launch of its state-of-the-art AI-enabled Digital Positron Emission Tomography - Computed Tomography (Digital PET CT) scan and 3 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (3T-MRI) services.

Inaugurated by Mr. Chandru Lachmandas Raheja, Trustee of S.L. Raheja Hospital, these advanced facilities are designed to enhance diagnostic accuracy, speed, and patient comfort. The new equipment is equipped with the latest AI technologies, promising a new era of precision in medical imaging.

The 3T MRI, for instance, boasts a stronger magnet that enables faster scans and produces sharper, more detailed high-resolution images. This is a significant leap from previous technologies, as it offers improved clarity and detail in anatomical and functional imaging, crucial for precise assessment of neurological, musculoskeletal, and cardiovascular conditions.

Meanwhile, the Digital PET CT, with its AI-enabled software, provides better precision in identifying lesions, especially cancerous ones. This technology, represented by the Siemens Biograph Vision model at the hospital, delivers superior image quality and precision, improving the detection and characterization of diseases, enabling early and accurate diagnosis.

The AI integration in these advanced imaging modalities also helps in automating image analysis, reducing human error, and speeding up report generation. AI assists clinicians in better interpretation of complex imaging data, leading to faster and more reliable clinical decisions.

The hospital's new Digital PET CT scan is the second of its kind in Mumbai, providing world-class imaging capabilities. The NICU and PICU, located on the same floor as pediatric facilities for seamless coordination between departments, are also equipped with the latest technology. The NICU has seven beds, fully equipped with high-frequency ventilators, CPAP units, LED phototherapy systems, and medical-grade sterilizers. The PICU consists of four beds, with one dedicated isolation bed for immunocompromised or infectious cases.

Dr S. Narayani, Business Head-Fortis Hospitals, Maharashtra, stated that the launch of the advanced NICU, PICU, and PET CT and MRI facilities is a major step forward in providing world-class, technology-driven healthcare. Dr Asmita Mahajan will head the NICU and PICU at S.L. Raheja Hospital, while Dr Mary Anne Joseph and Dr Sanjay Bhatia will oversee the AI-enabled Digital PET CT and 3T MRI services, respectively.
